3D Felt Flowers

Continuing our foray into Wet Felting with Caren Threlfall, we at Lytham St Annes Embroiderers Guild challenged ourselves to make 3D flowers. Here are some of the results. (see post on How to Wet Felt for details on making).

Lovely blues and greens. This flower above could also come from the sea. It maybe an exotic coloured star fish.

It was a challenge to get rounded petals as shown by the pink, blue and aqua example above.

The spindly ones look good too :-)

This one on the left in yellows and greens gives the impression that it originated in the Tropics, as if it were brought to England in Victorian times and grown and cultivated in a Collectors Hot House.

These felted flowers could adorn an outfit worn as a brooch or coursage or simply attached to florists wire and displayed in a vase.
