Embroidering our Tie Dyes

Here are some lovely WIPs from our May workshop where we added embroidery to our Tie Dyed pieces of fabric that we tied up in March. Read the previous two posts here and here

Really love this pale blue colour on the Bulls Eye piece below. A lace flower has been placed centre with a dyed blue thread couched down with silver thread. Pistol stitches are in the next circle.

Next in Turquoise, I think that this was the Spiral (or is it the Kebab?) Large chain stitches are sewn at angles creating and zig zag pattern in complimentary purple and lilac floss.

More lovely blue with Cross Stitches, Back Stitch and Chain stitches embellishing the rings formed by tying using the Bulls Eye method.

Here is a nice idea! One of our ladies dyed more pieces in extra colours and joined the resulting squares On Point to make up this lovely bag that looks great without further embellishment and is just waiting for a lining and handles.

One more bag, below. I just could not resist taking a few snaps of this awesome bag made by J. Fabric triangles are machine joined then embellished with embroidery and little charms.

Here is the other side that better shows the rich deep colours of the fabrics.
Just the kind of bag an embroiderer needs to hold her Sewing Kit when travelling to Workshops or for carrying newly acquired stash at Shows.

Thanks to everyone for allowing their projects to be photographed and to the 'Two Sue's' for leading our Dyeing Workshops.
